"Heaven Can Wait" Act Now  2 PM, March 24 and 7PM March 25

Performance dates:  June 6, 2002 - June 29, 2002

 This Comedy-Fantasy is the story of boxer Joe Pendleton, plucked from a plummeting airplane by an overeager angelic messenger.  It turns out that Joe was destined to regain control of the aircraft,  and isn't due in Heaven  for another sixty years!  Unfortunately Joe's
manager has his body cremated, so a search gets underway for a body  suitable for Joe to get "in  the pink" so he can fight for the championship,  which was his destiny.  Along the way the easy-going boxer falls in love and desperately wants to find a body that will both be capable of winning the championship and be attractive enough for the woman of his dreams.  This play was the basis for two motion pictures, Here Comes Mr. Jordan, starring Claude Rains, Robert
 Montgomery, and Edward Everett Horton, and Heaven Can Wait with Warren Beatty.

Lisa Williams at (510) 427-8078; (510) 885-7485;

I'm directing a piece, "Lunch", at the Dominican College one-act festival in  San Rafael.

I need to find three female actors under 20 (or believable as such), one very thin, one somewhat thin, and the other of normal weight --
the play concerns eating disorders.  The mass audition is already past, so  I'm asking around to see if anyone knows some likely
candidates.  I'd like to  arrange an audition at a time which is
convenient for all.
It's a short piece that won't require tons of rehearsal time.
It opens April 12 for a total of 5 performances spread over three
 weekends, closing April 28.
